About Deirdre:

Deirdre Fay, LICSW, has decades of experience exploring the intersection of trauma, attachment, yoga and meditation, and teaches “a radically positive approach to healing trauma.”  An international speaker and , Deirdre has written Becoming Safely Embodied (Morgan James Publishing, in press), Attachment-Based Yoga & Meditation for Trauma Recovery (W.W. Norton, 2017), co-author of Attachment Disturbances for Adults (W.W. Norton, 2016) as well as the co-author of chapters in Neurobiological Treatments of Traumatic Dissociation.  A former supervisor at The Trauma Center, trainer for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute from 2000–2008, she’s also certified in Internal Family Therapy, qualified trainer in Mindful Self-Compassion, amd former Board member of the New England Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. Deirdre is a respected international teacher, workshop leader, coach and mentor in working safely with the body.

Katherine King, PsyD


Katherine King, PsyD is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychology at William James College. She was trained in evidence-based treatments within the Veterans’ Administration and has a private practice specializing in geropsychology. Alex Gokce, MSW


Alex Gokce, MSW has experience leading psychotherapy groups on topics including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mind-body approaches to pain management. He has personal and professional interests in the individual, societal and intergenerational impacts of trauma, as well as the sociocultural roots of interpersonal harm. He has a master’s degree in social work from Salem State University and an undergraduate degree in Comparative Government from Harvard University.
