In this episode, we talk with Sara Lewis about trauma and resilience in the Tibetan diaspora, and how Buddhist concepts such as lojong and shenpa inform these experiences. Dr. Lewis is a psychological anthropologist, faculty member at Naropa University, and psychotherapist in private practice.

About Sara:
Dr. Sara Lewis is Associate Professor of Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology at Naropa University. As a psychological anthropologist, Sara's research focuses on trauma and resilience in the Tibetan diaspora. Her book, Spacious Minds: Trauma and Resilience in Tibetan Buddhism, published by Cornell University Press, considers how Buddhist concepts of time, emotion, and agency create pathways to resilience among those coping with trauma. She is also a psychotherapist in private practice.
